Hubertus Scherbarth joined our firm in 2015, working as a lawyer and tax advisor since 2021. He studied Law and European Art History at the Universities of Heidelberg, Krakow and Paris.
Hubertus Scherbarth supports you in the preparation, implementation and judicial review of general and shareholders' meetings and other resolutions. In addition, he assists you in board liability proceedings and shareholder disputes and advises board members and managing directors as well as supervisory board members and advisory board members on an ongoing basis in their dutiful management of business and corporate bodies. The focus of his advice is on liability avoidance and compliance.
Moreover, Hubertus Scherbarth advises on the restructuring of companies, corporate succession planning and the establishment of start-ups, for which he has in-depth knowledge thanks to his qualification as a tax advisor and his work in notary's offices. He also enjoys dealing with issues of digitalization in corporate law. Hubertus Scherbarth advises and corresponds in English and French.
His legal focus is on German and international corporate and commercial law. In 2020, Hubertus Scherbarth submitted his dissertation entitled "Internal Liability of the Defective Corporate Board Director" to his doctoral advisor Professor Dr. Stefan J. Geibel, Maître en droit (Université Aix-Marseille III). The thesis deals with questions of the duties of managers and supervisory board members as well as their liability. In addition, Hubertus Scherbarth worked at the University of Heidelberg as responsible for student legal working groups until 2019. He has also worked part-time as a notary's assistant in notary's offices in Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg.
