Hubertus Scherbarth joined our firm in 2015 as a research assistant, currently working in addition to his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main. He studied law and European art history at the universities of Heidelberg, Krakow and Paris.
His legal focus is on German and international corporate and business law. In 2020, he submitted his dissertation entitled "Internal liability of the faulty organ manager" to his doctoral supervisor Professor Dr. Stefan J. Geibel, Maître en droit (Université Aix-Marseille III). The thesis deals with questions of the duties of managers and supervisory boards and their liability.
In 2020 Hubertus Scherbarth successfully passed the tax consultant exam.
Hubertus Scherbarth worked at the University of Heidelberg as responsible for student legal working groups until 2019. Prior to that, he worked for many years at the Institute for German and European Corporate and Commercial Law under Professor Dr. Stefan J. Geibel, Maître en droit (Université Aix-Marseille III), and at the Institute for Finance and Tax Law under Professor Dr. Dres. h.c. Paul Kirchhof. He has also worked part-time as a notary's assistant in notary's offices in Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg.
Hubertus Scherbarth has already gained practical experience in the preparation, execution and judicial review of general meetings of stock corporations and shareholders' meetings of closely held companies. In addition, he has successfully participated in litigation resulting from disputes among board members and between shareholders as well as in ongoing advice to member of management and supervisory boards.
He has also been able to contribute to the restructuring of companies, business succession consulting and start-ups, for which he has in-depth knowledge due to his tax consultant qualifications and his work in notary offices. He has also developed an expertise dealing with questions of digitalization in corporate law.
