The AmCham Transatlantic Business Barometer 2021 – Upwards forecast for 2021

On March 18, 2021, AmCham Germany, the leading trade association promoting commerce between the US and Germany, presented its Business Barometer 2021. KUNZ Lawyers is n Executive Member of this well established association and KUNZ partner Hermann Knottis chairing its Cologne chapter.

While the results for 2020 have been mixed, a full recovery of transatlantic trade is expected for 2021. About 75% of the business enterprises surveyed on both sides of the Atlantic are forecastinig An increase in sales and investments for 2021. Industries with strong growth prospects are digital, energy and health care, including life siciences. From the perspective of US companies high labor and energy costs as well as corporate tax and the digital infrastructure are areas requiring improvement in Germany.
