This is the subject of the article by KUNZ partner Dr Hermann Knott and his long-time colleague, law firm consultant Robert Millard, Cambridge, England.

The article combines Hermann Knott’s personal experiences from legal practice with Rob Millard’s  knowledge from external consulting for law firms. In this way, a comprehensive picture is given of the differences in structure and working methods between large and medium-sized law firms.

As part of a reform of the century, the Bundestag passed the Act to Modernise the Law on Partnerships (MoPeG) on 24 June 2021 with the subsequent approval of the Bundesrat.The new regulations particularly affect the civil law partnership (GbR), which is so important for various areas of the economy.  We present an overview of the main principles of the reform.

Global Forum on the Impact of the New Trade Agreement between the EU and China (CAI) and Regarding the Increasing Importance of Mediation as a Method of Resolving International Disputes Involving Chinese Parties on March 26 and 27.

In the current issue of the Zeitschrift für Wirtschaftsrecht (ZIP), KUNZ Partner Dr. Knott deals with the practice-relevant question of whether small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have to repay subsidies if they lose their SME status due to acquisition by a larger company. This question is also important for the planning of the buyer and should be regulated in the company purchase agreement by guarantees or indemnities.

In its judgment of February 10, 2021 - 40 O 46/20 KfH - the Regional Court of Stuttgart dealt with Covid-19-related issues of corporate law. In the judgment, the Regional Court convincingly justifies that the provisions of the Covid-19 Act for facilitated decision-making during the Covid-19 pandemic does not apply and why extended notice periods may be necessary when scheduling shareholders' meetings in the current pandemic situation.Both aspects are likely to be of high practical importance in particular for Limited Liability Companies with an international group of shareholders.
