Dr. Knott on the specifics of the practice of international arbitration with reference to China in the panel of the ECAA

In a cooperation event of the European Chinese Arbitrators Association (ECAA) and the VIAC (Vienna International Arbitral Centre) in the framework of the 2nd Panel "Practical Tips for Drafting Arbitration Agreements" KUNZ partner Dr. Hermann Knott will present the special features to be considered in the practice of international arbitration with reference to China: the historically conditioned inadmissibility of ad hoc arbitration proceedings in the national context in China and the handling of provisional measures, in particular the effects of the agreement between Hong Kong and Mainland China on mutual assistance in court-ordered provisional measures in support of arbitration proceedings.

The European Chinese Arbitrators Association (ECAA) is a newly established non-governmental organisation under Austrian law targeting European and Chinese arbitrators and arbitration experts. ECAA aims to promote the cross-border appointment of arbitrators, i.e. to introduce experienced Chinese arbitrators to European arbitrators and European arbitrators to Chinese arbitrators. The ECAA was founded by five Chinese and five European arbitration experts, with the CIETAC European Arbitration Centre as the first advisory board member.
