Richard Haug
Partner
Attorney-at-Law (Germany)
Mr. Haug is a partner in our firm and leads the Stuttgart office of KUNZ.
Mr. Haug initially worked for many years as an assistant, research associate and lecturer at the chair of Prof. Dr. Gottfried Schiemann at the University of Tübingen for Civil Law, European Legal History and Insurance Law. After his admission to the bar in 1998, he worked for CBH in Stuttgart, among others, and joined KUNZ in 2022.
Mr. Haug mainly advises technically oriented companies and specializes in the comprehensive support of corporate law mandates, in particular with regard to insolvency law and liability law. In this area, he has extensive experience in handling numerous complex large-scale proceedings, in which he not only provides his clients with comprehensive out-of-court advice and contractual support, but also vigorously enforces their interests in court. For this purpose, Mr. Haug takes on litigation through all instances, both in purely national proceedings as well as in cross-border legal disputes with all references to international private law and European civil procedure law. In appeal cases before the Federal Supreme Court (BGH), there is a long-standing and very successful cooperation with a lawyer admitted to the BGH, so that a complete support of the mandates by Mr. Haug is guaranteed until the end of the proceedings.
Another focus of Mr. Haug's work is distribution law. In this area, he has been drafting licensing, production, and development agreements for companies over many years, including for a major sports car manufacturer, and he also handles the so-called after-sales business.
In addition, Mr. Haug is a proven expert in corporate/M&A and IT/IP law.
